Psalm 1 is not only the invitation to the rest of the Psalter, but an invitation to life with God - to become ”like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither.”

But how do we do this? With busy and individualized lives, we need to be intentional about creating space to grow in our discipleship to Jesus and our commitment to community.

That’s why, in this season, we are taking the time to develop a common rule of life at Reality Vancouver. We believe that knowledge becomes wisdom and God’s story becomes our story through intentional practice in community. A rule of life is ancient language for a set of practices that help us to grow into the people that God has on offer - a forest of trees abiding in Christ.

We began Rule of Life with a teaching series in 2020 and 2021 which is where the resources below are from. The Community Rule of Life is made up of twelve practices that are a mix of ancient and current practices that are suggested from the leadership of our church.

We also dedicate our summers to teaching and renewing our vision for the Rule of Life. These teachings from various teachers can be found linked at the bottom of this page.
